Parents are responsible to teach their children (Deutoronomy 6: 1-9)-These are all the commands, laws and regulations that the LORD your God told me to teach you so you may obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy, and so you and your children and grandchildren might fear the LORD your God as long as you live. If you obey all his laws and commands, you will enjoy a long life.  Listen closely, Israel to everything I say.  Be careful to obey.  Then all will go well with you, and you will have many children in the land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, promised you.  "Hear, O Israel!  The LORD is our God, the LORD alone.  And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength.  And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today.  Repeat them again and again to your children talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again.  Tie them to your hands as a reminder, and wear them on your forehead.  Write them on the door-posts of your house and on your gates.

This was the instruction given to the people of Israel after Exodus from Egypt, and this is the instruction to the Church today.  We are carefully instructed to obey and follow them for our own good and protection.  Obedience to God's commands results in blessings and long life.  Everything from our food to our health and finance is promised to be blessed when we follow God's instruction.  You can see they are instructed to keep them in their hearts and on their home and to meditate on them day and night, no matter where they are.  The reason is so that they would remain blessed and guarded from the attacks of the evil one in the world.  This is to keep them and their families healthy and safe, and in a condition where they are not vulnerable, and won't be overtaken by the evil in the world.

Train children to follow God (Proverbs 22: 6)-Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it.

Here we see that God's instruction to parents are to train our children while they are still young to take the right path in life, a path with God in their hearts, so that when they are older, they will remain upon it.  So, even as they get older, and they go off on their own to live their lives, they will remember what their first teachers taught them.  They will remember God's instruction and keep them in their hearts and use them as guidelines for their lives, so that they will remain blessed.

Christians should always learn more about God (Ephesians 4: 14-15)-Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.  Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ, who is the head of his body, the Church.

Here we read that Christians need to learn more about their God.  We need to learn so that we are not immature or underdeveloped like those who easily change their minds about what their faith is.  We see that it is possible for us to be lead astray if we are not careful and if we are not educated.  That is why Bible study is so important.  So, that when the time comes when people from the world try to convince us to believe what they believe in, we are not fooled, and do not fall into their beliefs.  We will already have learned the truth, for ourselves, after having read on it, and kept it in our hearts.  That is how people get lead into false religions, and you see stories on the news that they let people convince them to do shameful things, or kill, etc.  Education is key to success in life especially in the Church.  We need to know exactly what it is that we are to be following, and what we should keep in our hearts.  That is why Bible studies are extremely important.  You need to be prepared so when the enemy brings false religion (idolatry, and other shameful belief systems), you know how to respond, and of course to walk away with God's word in your heart, and filled with the Holy Spirit.

I hope this brief study on education helps you to remember why we are here right now, reading this blog.  We need to be educated and educate our children to find, learn, and keep on the right path with God.  A path of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.  A life that shines light in a dark world.  A life of honor, and excellency.  A life that makes God proud.  That is what we want to teach our children.  Until next time, God bless you; and be blessed.

Earth

  • God created the earth (Genesis 1: 1)-In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.  In this verse we see that God created the earth.  It says the earth was empty, a formless mass cloaked in darkness, and that the Spirit of god was hovering over the surface.  So, we know that God created it with a purpose.  Lets read further into scripture to see the importance of this.
  • People are the caretakers of the earth (Genesis 1: 28)-God blessed them and told them, "Multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.  Be masters over the fish and birds and all the animals.  Here we see God is speaking to Adam and Eve.  He is telling them what their purpose is in creation, to multiply and fill the earth, and to subdue it.  He gave them authority over the fish, birds, and all animals.  So, we see that man is not only created in God's image, but, given authority and responsibility for the animals, and also the earth.
  • The earth was cursed because of sin (Genesis 3: 17-19)-And to Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate the fruit I told you not to eat, I have placed a curse on the ground.  All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.  It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains.  All your life you will sweat to produce food, until your dying day.  Then you will return to the ground from which you came.  For you were made from dust, and to the dust you will return."  In these verses, we see going forward in scripture, that Adam disobeyed God by listening to his wife, in stead of listening to God.  Here we see how important it is for man to obey God.  Before Adam made that mistake, life on earth was to be for eternity.  There was not a curse on earth then.  Everything was blessed on the earth.  Food came easily, and naturally.  After they disobeyed God, they were cursed, and now we must struggle to scratch a living from it.  We can see that difficulty was added to man's life on earth.  Difficulty until his dying day.  Then he would have to face death, and return to the ground from which his body had been formed.  We see that death resulted from the sin of disobedience to God.  A reverent life results in long life, and blessings.
  • The earth belongs to God (Psalm 89: 11)-The heavens are yours, and the earth is yours; everything in the world is yours-you created it all.  In this verse we see that the earth belongs to God.  The heavens, and everything that we see belongs to Him.  And He decides what the fate will be of all.
  • The earth was created for God's glory (Colossians 1: 16)-Christ is the one through whom God created everything in heaven and earth.  He made the things we can see and the things we can't see-kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities.  Everything has been created through him, and for him.  This verse confirms that Christ is the Son of God, and heir to God's throne and creation.  He created everything.  Even what is not seen by most people.  Kings, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities.  He created it all.  This is for His glory.  His Majesty is to be praised forever.
  • Jesus sustains the earth (Hebrews 1: 3)-The Son reflects God's own glory, and everything about him represents God exactly.  He sustains the universe by the mighty power of His command.  After he died to cleanse us from the stain of sin, He sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the Majestic God of heaven.  Jesus is God.  His words created, and sustains the earth and man.  He speaks, and things are, or happen.  His death cleanse us from the stain of sin.  Once Adam and Eve sinned, their souls had been stained.  His death on the cross washed that sin away from all who believe in Him, and accept Him as their LORD and Savior.   He now sits in honor at the right hand of God our Father.  And He continues to intercede for believers and sustains the earth.  And we as believers are now His Children.  We also are heir to His kingdom.  And like Jesus, we have also defeated death, sins, and the curse of the earth.  That is why everything we do is prosperous and blessed.  And to His name we give praise!  His name is glorified!  His name be exalted!  And forever His name is praised!  Amen!

I hope this study helps you the reader, to have a better understanding of man's responsibility to God and the earth.  We should know what our role is in life and how to fulfill it reverently so that not only we are blessed, but, future generations learn the truth about God's creation, and how important it is that we live according to His plan and purpose for us.  May the LORD continue to bless you and yours!  Bless the earth!

Resurrection (the meaning behind Easter Sunday)

Resurrection
  • Christs resurrection is a historical fact (Matthew 28: 1-15)-Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to see the tomb.  Suddenly there was a great earthquake, because  an angel of the LORD came down from heaven and rolled aside the stone and sat on it.  His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.  The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.  Then the angel spoke to the women.  ¨Don't be afraid!¨ he said.  ¨I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He isn't here!  He has been raised from the dead, just as he said would happen.  Come, see where his body was lying.  And now, go quickly and tell his disciples he has been raised from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee.  You will see him there.  Remember, I have told you¨.  The women ran quickly from the tomb.  They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to find the disciples to give them the angel's message.  And as they went, Jesus met them.  ¨Greetings!¨  he said.  And they ran to him, held his feet, and worshiped him.  Then Jesus said to them, ¨Don't be afraid!  Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.¨  The report of the Guard: As the women were on their way into the city, some of the men who had been guarding the tomb went into the leading priests and told them what had happened.  A meeting of all the religious leaders was called.  And they decided to bribe the soldiers.  They told the soldiers ¨You must say, 'Jesus' disciples came during the night while we were sleeping, and they stole his body.'  If the governor hears about it, we'll stand up for you and everything will be alright.¨  So the guards accepted the bribe, and said what they were told to say.  Their story spread widely among the Jews, and they still tell it today.  The Great Commission:  Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshipped him-but some of them still doubted!  Jesus came and told his disciples, ¨I have been given complete authority in heaven and on earth.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this: I am with you always even to the end of the age.¨  This happened to Mary Magdalene and the other Mary early on a Sunday morning as they were going to tend to Jesus' body.  In those days, they would bring perfumes and oils to apply to the bodies.  The angel told them not to be afraid because Jesus' body was no longer in the tomb.  This had taken place just as Jesus had prophesied it would when he was with the disciples.  The angel had actually told them where Jesus was headed.  They were very frightened then, to think that someone that they knew who had died, could be walking the earth; and felt great joy because they knew this great miracle had happened!  They needed to tell the disciples.  The feeling of joy that they experienced was so great just in knowing that the prophecy had actually been fulfilled!  Everything that Jesus had spoken had now come true before their own very eyes!  They were now seeing that Jesus was indeed raised from the dead just as He had promised.  There could not be a greater experience than that for these women.  And just as they were on their way to tell the disciples, they ran into Jesus!!!  Can you imagine how they had to be feeling right at that moment?  At that point, the guards had to report back to their superiors, the leading priests.  Those leading priests gathered with all the religious leaders, and agreed to tell a lie about what had actually happened.  This was in fear that the public would realize that they wrongfully crucified an innocent man who had done no wrong, and in fear of what the governors actions against them would be.  It was the work of evil so that less souls would come to know the truth; and be saved.  So, out of fear and, as a result of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a lie is told even till this day.  The Great Commission: the disciples went to meet Jesus in Galilee, and even still doubted though they were actually looking at Jesus risen from the dead (this shows how weak man is or the fallibility of man).  Just then, Jesus told or reminded them that he had authority in heaven and on earth, and commanded them to go and make disciples everywhere, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  The new disciples are to be taught all the commands our God has given, and most importantly to actually obey them.  Obedience is an extremely important part of the Christian's life of success, and we believers should submit if we really want to see God.  And Jesus wants us also to be sure  of his awesome presence in our lives until the end of time.  This is what gives us the strength to submit to the Holy Spirit, and remain in Him.  Because He is with us.  Let us rejoice in His truth!  And in His presence!!  His love endures forever!  Amen!

May the Spirit of the LORD be with you, and continue to bless you and your families this Easter Holiday, and until the end of time, that you remain steadfast in Him, and fulfill your purpose in life, as God has intended for each one of you.   Until the next study, be blessed, and be an amazing part of God's plan!  Happy Easter!  Amen.
